ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the spinal cord and brain. It leads to a loss of muscle control over time and currently has no known cure, according to the Mayo Clinic. Throughout his battle with the disease, Eric shared his experiences, detailing how he was losing strength in his body and was down to just one functioning arm.
