Eric Dane’s Friends Launch GoFundMe After His Death

Eric Dane, best known for his role as Dr. Mark Sloan on the hit TV show “Grey’s Anatomy,” tragically passed away on February 19th after battling amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. In honor of Dane, his closest friends have set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for his wife and two daughters.

The GoFundMe page highlights Dane’s dedication to raising awareness for ALS and supporting others facing the same devastating disease. Despite his own declining health, Dane remained committed to advocating for the ALS community. As his illness progressed rapidly, his friends created the fundraising campaign to provide financial stability for his daughters in the future.

The goal of the GoFundMe campaign is to raise $250,000, and so far, $178,064 has been generously donated by supporters. Notably, “Euphoria” director Sam Levinson and executive producer Ashley Levinson have made a significant joint donation of $27,000, placing them as the top donors.

Following Dane’s passing, heartfelt tributes poured in from his colleagues and collaborators. “Grey’s Anatomy” creator Shonda Rhimes expressed her gratitude for Dane’s portrayal of Dr. Mark Sloan, acknowledging the impact he had on the series and audiences worldwide. She praised Dane’s artistry, spirit, friendship, and humanity, emphasizing the lasting legacy he leaves behind.
