Ex-husband arrested in connection with double murder of Ohio dentist, wife
A tragic incident unfolded just before the new year as a man has been arrested in connection with the double murder of his ex-wife and her husband in Columbus, Ohio. The victims, Monique Tepe, 39, and Spencer Tepe, 37, were fatally shot in their home, leading to a harrowing investigation that ultimately led to the arrest of Michael McKee.
According to court records, McKee was linked to a vehicle seen on surveillance footage in the neighborhood around the time of the killings. Detectives were able to identify him through the footage, connecting him to a vehicle that arrived just before the murders and left shortly after. The vehicle was later found in Rockford, Illinois, with evidence implicating McKee in the crime.
Spencer Tepe suffered multiple gunshot wounds, while Monique Tepe had at least one gunshot wound to the chest. The couple was discovered after Spencer failed to show up for work, with their two small children found unharmed in the house.
In a statement, Columbus police confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and urged the public to respect the process to avoid compromising the case. The Tepe family expressed gratitude for the efforts of law enforcement in capturing the suspect, stating that while nothing can undo the loss, they trust the justice system to hold McKee accountable.
McKee and Monique Tepe were previously married in 2015 but divorced in 2017. They did not have any children together. McKee is set to appear in court on Monday to face charges related to the double murder.
The arrest of McKee marks a significant step towards justice for the victims, as their family continues to mourn their loss and cherish the memories of Monique and Spencer. Their light will be remembered as the community comes together to support the children left behind.
