Ex-LIV Golfer claims Asian Tour is ‘drawing better players’ with Saudi league association amid International Series finale
Scott Vincent is currently leading The International Series’ season-long rankings and is in pole position to secure one of the two spots on LIV Golf next season. The Zimbabwean golfer, who previously played two seasons with Iron Heads GC after winning the inaugural Rankings race in 2022, is poised to make a comeback. In anticipation of his potential move up, he commended the Asian Tour for its ability to attract top players and for its growth over the years.
Vincent expressed his appreciation for the Asian Tour and The International Series, describing the experience as “really good” and emphasizing the increased opportunities they provide for players aiming to join LIV Golf. The 33-year-old, who emerged victorious at the International Series Morocco and narrowly missed out on a playoff at the Jakarta International Championship, noted that the competition now demands higher performance levels, with the cuts becoming more challenging.
Following a strong start at the prestigious $5 million PIF Saudi International powered by SoftBank Investment Advisers, the two-time Asian Tour winner hailed the feeder tour’s evolution as ‘exciting for the future.’
Speaking to ASAP Sports, Scott Vincent stated, “I think it’s great that there are more LIV Golf spots available from the International Series. Obviously, if you’re on this side trying to get that way, it’s great that they open it up a bit more. I think the International Series is only getting better as the years go on. The tournaments are run well, and just the whole experience is really good, and obviously more opportunities for us to pursue the Asian Tour to get on LIV… I just think the Asian Tour is getting a little stronger each and every year. It’s drawing better players. As you can see with the cuts, the cuts are moving up, so you got to play better.”
Furthermore, the former LIV star acknowledged that the heightened competition on the Asian Tour is pushing him to elevate his game.
In terms of the International Series qualifiers for LIV Golf 2026, Scott Vincent is primed to make his return to the elite tour. He currently leads the season-long rankings ahead of Japan’s Yosuke Asaji and Philippines champion Miguel Tabuena. The series finale at Riyadh Golf Club offers increased points, providing LIV chances for players within the top ten, including four LIV Golfers. Notable contenders like International Series India winner Ollie Schniederjans, Jakarta champion Wade Ormsby, and Japan’s Kazuki Higa have the opportunity to make significant strides at the PIF Saudi International and secure a spot on the breakaway tour.
It is worth mentioning that two additional golden tickets to LIV Golf will be up for grabs at the third edition of the LIV Golf Promotions event scheduled for January 2026 in Florida.
