Ex-Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore told mistress he was going to make her watch him kill himself: ‘My blood is on your hands’
Former University of Michigan football coach, Sherrone Moore, found himself in a whirlwind of trouble after an alleged incident involving his executive assistant and lover, Paige Shiver. Moore appeared in court on Friday facing charges of felony home invasion, stalking, and breaking and entering. The charges stemmed from an altercation where Moore broke into Shiver’s home, armed with butter knives and kitchen scissors, and threatened to harm himself.
The 32-year-old had recently ended their relationship just two days prior to the incident, but continued to contact Shiver despite her attempts to ignore him. When Shiver reported the affair to the athletic department, Moore was promptly fired for engaging in an “inappropriate relationship” with a staff member.
According to prosecutor Kati Rezmierski, Moore and Shiver had been involved in an intimate relationship for several years. The situation escalated when Moore, enraged by his termination, broke into Shiver’s home and threatened to commit suicide, making her watch as he did so. He also reportedly told Shiver that her actions had ruined his life.
Despite the tense situation, Shiver managed to persuade Moore to leave by threatening to call the police. Moore now faces the possibility of five years behind bars if convicted of the top charge of home invasion. Prior to his dismissal, Moore had been in charge of the University of Michigan football program for two years.
The incident involving Moore and Shiver serves as a cautionary tale about the consequences of inappropriate relationships in the workplace. It highlights the importance of maintaining professionalism and boundaries in professional settings to avoid such volatile situations. Moore’s actions have not only tarnished his reputation but have also put his freedom at stake. It remains to be seen how this legal battle will unfold and what consequences Moore will ultimately face for his actions.
