Exclusive | Bonkers Brooklyn dine-and-dasher Pei Chung evicted while she sits in jail
Pei Chung, known for her infamous dine-and-dash escapades, has recently been evicted from her luxurious apartment in Williamsburg. City marshal Robert Renzulli carried out the eviction, changing the locks on Chung’s $3,500-a-month residence at 416 Kent Ave. The landlord, former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer, took the necessary steps to remove Chung from the premises.
Chung gained notoriety for repeatedly skipping out on high-end restaurant bills, masquerading as a food influencer to indulge in gourmet meals without any intention of paying. She flaunted her designer wardrobe on social media, adding insult to injury by posting about the lavish dishes she consumed without settling the tab. In one shocking incident, Chung even attempted to offer sex in exchange for a steak at Peter Luger, a renowned steakhouse.
After multiple arrests for her dine-and-dash antics, Chung found herself facing a bail of $4,500 and a stint at Rikers Island. The judge also mandated a psychiatric evaluation for Chung, hinting at potential underlying issues contributing to her behavior. Not only did Chung rack up substantial restaurant debts, but court documents revealed that she owed a staggering $40,000 in rent for her studio apartment, where she posted risqué photos of herself in lingerie.
During the eviction process, Renzulli noted that Chung’s belongings, including furniture, clothing, and bedding, remained in the apartment. Per standard protocol, the landlord must hold onto these items for 30 days before disposal, a process that may involve legal consultation to ensure compliance with regulations.
As Chung’s saga continues to unfold, her eviction serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of fraudulent behavior and financial irresponsibility. With her once-glamorous lifestyle now in shambles, Chung faces a harsh reality as she navigates the aftermath of her deceitful actions.
