Exclusive | Depraved Bronx house of horrors mom’s financial problems revealed –

A Bronx mother, Lissette Soto Domenech, found herself in deep financial troubles just before the shocking discovery of the abuse her twin boys endured in her Riverdale apartment. Court records revealed that Domenech had filed for bankruptcy three times between 2023 and 2025, with $0 in her bank account and debts totaling $300,000. Despite her financial woes, she was able to post a $25,000 cash bail after being indicted on child abuse charges.

Neighbors described Domenech as a reclusive figure, with one calling her a “little witch” who would shut her door if anyone came near. The horrific conditions inside her apartment were exposed when Administration of Children’s Services workers finally gained entry after several failed attempts. It was discovered that Domenech kept her boys in diapers and fed them from baby bottles in an attempt to keep them as babies forever.

One neighbor recounted hearing the boys crying and their mother yelling, prompting a complaint to be made six years ago. When Domenech finally opened the door, it revealed two children who appeared much younger than their actual age. The boys, now 14 years old, were found weighing just over 50 pounds each after a diet based on baby food and years of abuse.

Domenech pleaded not guilty to the child abuse charges and was released on bail, although it remains unclear how she was able to afford it given her financial situation. Bankruptcy records showed that she had no real income and substantial debts, mostly stemming from the two apartments she owned in the co-op building.

Despite attempting to reorganize her finances through bankruptcy filings, Domenech failed to meet the requirements each time. Her debts, including the mortgage on her home and the neighboring apartment, amounted to over $300,000. The court eventually ruled in favor of the bank, allowing them to foreclose or sell the property to satisfy the loan.

The apartment where the abuse took place still emits a faint odor, with police visiting twice in response to calls about the smell. Domenech’s whereabouts are currently unknown, with a woman at a Harlem apartment believed to be her family home denying any connection to the family. The tragic story of the Bronx house of horrors continues to unravel, shedding light on the disturbing circumstances that led to the abuse of her twin boys.
