However, the “Less Is More” parole reforms implemented in 2022 prevented his detention and allowed him to continue roaming free.

The parole reform legislation, spearheaded by Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani and his socialist colleagues, aims to keep parolees out of prison while awaiting court proceedings for new charges.
