Fake Labubu dolls pose threat to kids, safety watchdog says

Additionally, some knockoffs are poorly made and can break into small pieces, which children could swallow.

To identify fake Labubus, the CPSC advises consumers to look for certain markers of authenticity. Authentic Labubus will have a holographic Pop Mart sticker, a scannable QR code, and a discreet UV stamp on one foot. Another telltale sign of a fake Labubu is the number of teeth – authentic dolls have nine teeth, while counterfeit versions may have a different number. Additionally, fake Labubus may appear brighter than the real dolls.
