FBI busts alleged LA riot leader who was filmed helping to distribute ‘Bionic Shield’ face masks to protesters

The FBI has made a significant arrest in Los Angeles, apprehending Alejandro Theodoro Orellana for his alleged involvement in distributing face shields to anti-ICE rioters. Orellana was taken into custody on Thursday morning and now faces a charge of conspiracy to commit civil disorders, according to US Attorney for the Central District of California, Bill Essayli.

The riots in Los Angeles have been described as well-orchestrated, coordinated, and well-funded by authorities. Essayli emphasized the importance of identifying and apprehending individuals involved in organizing, supporting, funding, or facilitating such riots. The goal is to understand the individuals and organizations behind these disruptive activities.

Disturbing footage captured protesters rushing towards a truck to grab the “Bionic Shield” face masks, which Orellana is accused of delivering. The video shows Orellana behind the wheel of the truck, wearing protective goggles and a face mask, engaging with a protester through the driver’s side window.

President Trump has responded to the unrest by deploying 2,000 National Guard troops to LA to restore order. Additionally, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is stepping up its efforts following Orellana’s arrest. Assistant DHS Secretary Tricia McLaughlin has issued a warning to rioters, emphasizing that law enforcement will continue to enforce the law and prosecute those who engage in violent behavior.

Rioters have been engaging in destructive activities, including hurling rocks and cement at federal agents, setting cars on fire, and blocking highways. The FBI is also seeking a masked individual identified as Elpidio Reyna, who was caught on camera throwing bricks at federal law enforcement authorities. Reyna faces charges of assault on a federal officer and could potentially be sentenced to up to eight years in prison if convicted.

The arrest of Orellana and the ongoing efforts to identify and prosecute individuals involved in the riots demonstrate a commitment to maintaining law and order in Los Angeles. The authorities are determined to hold those responsible for violence and civil disorder accountable for their actions.
