Fired MSNBC Analyst Slams Network Stars For Showing More Outrage Over Kimmel

Political analyst Matthew Dowd, who was fired by MSNBC for comments about Charlie Kirk, criticized his former network for not giving his ouster the same attention as ABC suspending Jimmy Kimmel. In an appearance on Katie Couric’s podcast, Dowd expressed his disappointment in MSNBC for not acknowledging his firing on air. He accused “Morning Joe” hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski of being glad about his termination. Dowd also addressed the suspension of Kimmel’s show, calling it “awful for America” and a threat to the First Amendment.

ABC’s decision to suspend Kimmel’s show has sparked outrage and concerns about free speech. Dowd, speaking before reports of Kirk’s death, highlighted the divisive environment in the U.S. and the impact of hateful rhetoric on actions. In a social media post, Dowd criticized MSNBC for lacking moral authority in criticizing others for bending to political pressure, citing his own firing as an example of hypocrisy.

JS has contacted MSNBC for a response to Dowd’s comments.
