First Look Revealed of Sean Bean and Connie Nielsen in ‘Robin Hood’

MGM+ has unveiled the first-look image from the highly anticipated drama series “Robin Hood,” set to premiere later this year. The photo showcases Sean Bean (“Game of Thrones,” “The Lord of the Rings”) as the Sheriff of Nottingham and Connie Nielsen (“Gladiator,” “Wonder Woman”) as Eleanor of Aquitaine, giving viewers a glimpse into the intense rivalries and power struggles central to this reimagined version of the classic tale.

Described as a “smart, sweeping, romantic adventure,” “Robin Hood” promises to deliver historical authenticity, psychological depth, and a renewed focus on the relationship between Rob and Marian. The storyline follows Rob, a Saxon forester’s son, and Marian, the daughter of a Norman lord, who come together to fight for justice and freedom in the aftermath of the Norman invasion of England. As Rob leads a band of rebel outlaws, Marian infiltrates the royal court to combat corruption and restore peace to the land.

Leading the cast are Jack Patten as Rob and Lauren McQueen as Marian, with supporting roles filled by Lydia Peckham, Steven Waddington, Marcus Fraser, Angus Castle-Doughty, and Henry Rowley. The series is helmed by showrunner John Glenn and director Jonathan English, both of whom also serve as writers and executive producers.

Executive producer Todd Lieberman of Hidden Pictures, along with Carly Elter and Nicole Bryant overseeing the project, ensures that “Robin Hood” will captivate audiences not only in the U.S. on MGM+ but also in the U.K., Italy, Germany, Spain, Latin America, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg.

Stay tuned for the premiere of “Robin Hood” on MGM+ and get ready to embark on a thrilling adventure filled with romance, intrigue, and daring escapades.
