Florida mom accused of killing son in bid to ‘exorcise demons’

An unsettling tragedy unfolded in Fort Pierce, Florida, as a mother, Rhonda Paulynice, allegedly killed her 6-year-old son, Ra’myl Pierre, in a disturbing attempt to “exorcise demons” from his body. The young boy’s decaying remains were discovered by authorities 12 days after his death, following a report from school officials about his extended absence.
Sheriff Richard Del Toro revealed that Paulynice believed she was instructed by God to rid her son of demons, leading to the fatal incident. She claimed that once the child stopped moving and passed away, she thought he had been freed from the evil spirits and was waiting for him to return. This tragic turn of events left law enforcement officers and community members in shock at the senseless loss of a beloved child.
Leading up to the discovery of Ra’myl’s body, Paulynice exhibited erratic behavior on social media, posting cryptic and obsessive religious messages. Authorities also noted her fluctuating mood swings, alternating between laughter and tears during the investigation at their home on Bedford Drive.
The 41-year-old mother had a history of domestic disputes with her sister, who previously lived in the residence, but the young boy was never involved in these incidents. Despite a visit from law enforcement for a reported medical issue the day before Ra’myl’s death, there were no apparent signs that Paulynice posed a threat to her son.
Paulynice has been charged with second-degree murder, failure to report a death, and altering a body. She is currently detained at St. Lucie County Jail, awaiting further legal proceedings in connection with this tragic case.
The community mourns the loss of Ra’myl Pierre, a bright and loved child whose life was tragically cut short in a senseless act of violence. The impact of this heartbreaking event will be felt by all who knew and cherished him.
