Ford recalling 1.4 million vehicles over faulty rearview camera
Ford Motor Company Recalls Over 1.4 Million Vehicles Due to Rearview Camera Issue
Ford Motor Company has issued a recall for 1,448,655 vehicles due to a safety concern with the rearview camera system that could potentially increase the risk of a crash. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration posted a notice on Oct. 13, highlighting that the rearview camera on certain Ford vehicles may display distorted images or a blank screen when the vehicle is in reverse, posing a safety hazard.
The recall affects several Ford vehicles across different model years, including popular models like the Ford Explorer and Ford Escape. Owners of these vehicles are urged to take immediate action to address the rearview camera issue to ensure their safety on the road.
Affected Vehicles in Ford Recall:
Dealers will conduct inspections and replace the rearview camera at no cost to the owners as part of the recall process. Ford will be sending out letters to notify owners of the affected vehicles about the rearview camera risk, with mailings expected to be completed in October.

Previous Camera-Related Recalls by Ford:
This latest recall announcement by Ford comes in the wake of several other camera-related recalls. Earlier this month, Ford recalled 290,000 models due to issues with the 360-degree camera system not displaying rearview images correctly in certain lighting conditions, posing a crash risk. In May, nearly 1.1 million Ford and Lincoln vehicles were recalled for similar camera-related issues, followed by an additional 200,000 vehicles in July.
