Former Fetterman Staffer Sent Warning Letter To Doctor About Senator’s ‘Bad Trajectory’: Report

Adam Jentleson, Sen. John Fetterman’s former chief of staff, penned a letter to a doctor involved in the Pennsylvania senator’s treatment for clinical depression. The letter outlined “warning signs” and expressed concerns about the senator’s mental well-being.

New York Magazine reported Friday that Jentleson, who served as Fetterman’s chief of staff from 2022 to 2024, listed several concerns in the letter. These included worries about the senator not adhering to prescribed medication and missing check-up appointments.

Jentleson had previously provided updates on the senator’s care to the public after Fetterman sought treatment for clinical depression at a hospital in February 2023. Following a six-week stay, Fetterman announced his depression was in remission. Earlier in May 2022, the senator had a stroke during his Senate campaign.

A year after Fetterman completed his inpatient treatment, Jentleson shared “warning signs we discussed” with David Williamson, a doctor at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center who had been involved in Fetterman’s care.

According to NY Mag, Jentleson expressed his concerns in the letter, stating, “I think John is on a bad trajectory and I’m really worried about him.” The New York Times also obtained a copy of the email, titled “concerns.”

Jentleson’s letter to the doctor also mentioned concerns such as conspiratorial thinking, megalomania, and erratic behavior. He also expressed worry about Fetterman acquiring a gun and advised against traveling with the senator if he was driving.

The New York Times reported that Fetterman dismissed the concerns raised in the NY Mag article as a “hit piece,” and stated that his medical team and family affirmed his well-being. Fetterman’s wife, Gisele, claimed that Jentleson shared false and alarming stories about her husband’s health.

Throughout his tenure in the Senate, Fetterman has been a strong supporter of Israel and has diverged from progressive Democrats on various issues.

Fetterman made headlines as the first Democratic senator to meet with President Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago following his victory over former Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential race.
