Former Student Allegedly Stabs Three Staff Members and Plants Pipe Bombs at California School
Authorities in Torrance, California are investigating a disturbing incident that occurred at the Switzer Learning Center on Monday morning. According to the Torrance Police Department, a former student of the school allegedly stabbed three staff members and attempted to stab a fourth before fleeing the scene.
Two of the victims were quickly taken to Harbor General Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, while the third victim received medical attention on site from the Torrance Fire Department.
After the suspect was apprehended by law enforcement, he revealed that he had planted two pipe bombs in the area of 208 Street and Amapola Avenue. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Bomb Squad successfully located and disarmed the incendiary devices, ensuring that there was no ongoing threat to the public.
Details about the suspect, including their name, age, and motive for the attack, have not been released by authorities. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
The Torrance Police Department emphasized that the safety of the community is their top priority and thanked the public for their cooperation during the investigation. They also expressed gratitude for the swift response from all agencies involved in handling the situation.
