“Friends” Fans Rejoice: Central Perk Coffeehouse Coming to Times Square

Fans of the hit sitcom “Friends” will soon have the opportunity to step into a real-life version of the iconic Central Perk coffeehouse right in the heart of New York City. The beloved hangout spot of Ross, Rachel, Monica, Chandler, Joey, and Phoebe will be brought to life in Times Square with the opening of the first permanent Central Perk location in the city.

Scheduled to launch in fall 2025, the Central Perk café promises to offer artisanal coffee drinks and “Friends”-inspired food items curated by “Top Chef” judge and James Beard Award winner Tom Colicchio. The café will feature a replica of the famous orange sofa, as well as merchandise and take-home coffee blends available for purchase.

Located on the northeast corner of 7th Avenue and 47th Street, the Times Square location will be the second permanent outpost for Central Perk, following the successful opening of the Boston location in 2023.

Peter van Roden, EVP of Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences, expressed his excitement about bringing Central Perk to Times Square, calling it a “homecoming” for the iconic landmark in television history. He emphasized the significance of bringing the experience to Manhattan, where the story of “Friends” began, and creating a space that is both nostalgic and freshly reimagined for fans around the world.

Paul Landino, company executive at CenPer Holdings, shared his enthusiasm for expanding the Central Perk brand to New York City, citing the positive response from fans in Boston as a driving force behind the decision. He highlighted the unique experience that Central Perk offers, allowing customers to create their own personal “Friends” experience within the café.

With its upcoming debut in Times Square, Central Perk is set to become a must-visit destination for fans of the show looking to immerse themselves in the world of “Friends” while enjoying a cup of coffee in a cozy and familiar setting.
