Gerber recalls some arrowroot biscuits over potential plastic or paper pieces
Gerber Recalls Arrowroot Biscuits Over Contamination Concerns
Gerber has issued a recall for some of its arrowroot biscuits due to potential contamination of soft plastic and paper pieces, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced on Wednesday. The affected product is the 5.5-ounce Gerber Arrowroot Biscuits with “Best Before” dates ranging from Oct. 16, 2026, to Dec. 16, 2026. Consumers are advised to check the 10-digit batch code located on the back of the product packaging to determine if their purchase is part of the recall.
No illnesses or injuries have been reported in connection with the recalled biscuits, according to Gerber’s voluntary recall announcement. The contamination issue was traced back to an arrowroot flour supplier who initiated a recall, prompting Gerber to discontinue its partnership with the supplier.
Customers who have purchased the affected arrowroot biscuits are urged not to feed them to children and to return the products for a refund. Gerber emphasized that the quality, safety, and integrity of their products are of utmost importance and apologized for any inconvenience caused to parents, caregivers, and retail customers.
This is not the first time Gerber has had to recall products. In the past, the company recalled baby formula and teething sticks due to safety concerns. Despite these setbacks, Gerber remains a dominant player in the baby food market in the U.S.
As always, consumers are advised to stay informed about product recalls and take appropriate action if they have purchased any recalled items. Your child’s safety is paramount, and it’s crucial to follow recall instructions to prevent any potential harm. Stay updated on product recalls and take necessary precautions to ensure the well-being of your family.
