Giants’ Abdul Carter heartbroken by ATV crash that killed ex-Penn State teammate’s girlfriend

Giants rookie Abdul Carter expressed deep sorrow upon learning about the tragic accident involving his former Penn State teammate, Julian Fleming, and his girlfriend, Alyssa Boyd, over the holiday weekend.

Fleming, 24, and Boyd, 23, were involved in an ATV accident on a rural road in Bradford County, Pennsylvania, near the New York state border. The ATV collided with a deer, resulting in Boyd’s untimely death at the scene due to extensive injuries. Fleming also sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Guthrie Troy Community Hospital for treatment.

Carter took to social media, posting a heartfelt message of “stay strong” along with broken heart and praying hand emojis for his friend. He also added words of encouragement, expressing his support for Fleming during this challenging time.

Both Fleming and Boyd were Pennsylvania natives, with Fleming being a highly touted recruit out of high school, eventually playing for Ohio State before transferring to Penn State for his final college season in 2024. Despite signing with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent, Fleming’s NFL journey hit a roadblock when the team rescinded their offer after he reportedly failed a physical.

The tragic accident has left the Penn State community and those who knew Fleming and Boyd in shock and mourning. Their families have chosen not to comment on the incident, as they come to terms with the loss of their loved ones.

As details of the accident emerged, it was revealed that neither Fleming nor Boyd were wearing safety equipment at the time of the crash. The police report noted the presence of a deceased deer at the scene, believed to be the cause of the collision.

Despite the heartbreaking turn of events, Carter and others who knew Fleming and Boyd continue to offer their support and condolences during this difficult time. The memories of Fleming’s time on the football field and Boyd’s bright future at the University of Alabama will forever be cherished by those who knew them.
