Giants getting Tyrone Tracy back vs. Eagles, lose Darius Slayton

The New York Giants are gearing up for their upcoming game against the Philadelphia Eagles, and there are some key updates on the injury front. Wide receiver Tyrone Tracy is set to make his return after missing just two games with a partially dislocated shoulder. This is great news for the Giants as Tracy was not listed on the injury report released on Wednesday, indicating that he will be suiting up to face the Eagles at MetLife Stadium.

However, the news is not as positive for wide receiver Darius Slayton. Slayton suffered a strained hamstring during last Sunday’s game against the Saints and had to be forced off the field late in the game. With a short week and only four days until the next game, Slayton has been ruled out for Thursday’s matchup against the Eagles.

To add depth to the receiver position, the Giants are expected to elevate veteran Lil’Jordan Humphrey from the practice squad. This move will provide additional options for rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart, who will be making his third NFL start. Dart will be working with a depleted receiver corps, as Slayton is sidelined and top target Malik Nabers is on season-ending injured reserve with a torn ACL.

In the absence of Slayton, Dart will be looking to connect with Wan’Dale Robinson, rookie Beaux Collins, Jalin Hyatt, and potentially Humphrey as his wide receivers. In the previous game against the Saints, Dart heavily relied on tight ends Theo Johnson and Daniel Bellinger.

Tracy, who started two of the first three games before his injury, will be looking to bounce back. Despite a slow start to the season, Tracy has passed all medical tests and has been cleared to play. He emphasized the importance of being able to execute his job at a high level and expressed his readiness to return to the field.

With Tracy back in the lineup and the Giants looking to overcome their injury challenges, Thursday’s game against the Eagles promises to be an intriguing matchup. Stay tuned for more updates on the Giants as they continue their season.
