The Gilded Age Continues to Shine: Fifth Episode Draws 4 Million Viewers

The glitz and glamour of HBO’s period drama “The Gilded Age” is proving to be a hit with viewers, with the fifth episode of the show’s third season reaching a new high of 4 million viewers in Live+3 viewing. This impressive number surpasses the previous series high set just last week with episode four’s 3.8 million viewers. The show has seen a 20% increase in viewership compared to its previous season and has garnered its highest-ever weekly viewership on HBO Max.

“The Gilded Age” initially struggled in the ratings but has steadily built its audience over its three seasons, with the current season being the most popular yet. Critics have praised the show since its debut, and its success continues to grow through word of mouth.

In the latest episode, tensions between George (Morgan Spector) and Bertha (Carrie Coon) escalate as they discover their daughter, Gladys (Taissa Farmiga), is facing challenges in her new life as a married woman in England. George’s business worries mount, while Bertha becomes fixated on uncovering the source of leaked information to the press within their staff. Meanwhile, Peggy (Denée Benton) finds herself caught between the affections of Dr. Kirkland (Jordan Donica) and Mr. Fortune (Sullivan Jones), and Marian (Louisa Jacobson) gets engaged to Larry (Harry Richardson).

The star-studded cast of Season 3 includes Christine Baranski, Cynthia Nixon, Blake Ritson, Ben Ahlers, Ashlie Atkinson, and many more talented actors. Julian Fellowes created the series and serves as an executive producer, with Gareth Neame, David Crockett, and Bob Greenblatt also executive producing. Michael Engler and Salli Richardson-Whitfield serve as directors and executive producers, while Sonja Warfield is a writer and executive producer. The series is a co-production between HBO and Universal Television.
