Glaser Weil Attorney Was 65

Remembering Harrison Dossick: A Leading Entertainment Litigator

On August 14, the legal community lost a prominent figure with the unexpected passing of Harrison Dossick in Los Angeles at the age of 65. Dossick, a seasoned entertainment and media litigator, had a career spanning nearly four decades representing major film studios, creative talent, distributors, and media companies.

Dossick’s impressive track record included successful defenses in high-profile cases such as representing Angelina Jolie in a copyright infringement case for “In the Land of Blood and Honey” and FilmDistrict Distribution in false advertising claims over “Drive.” He also handled matters for Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures Entertainment, and Sony’s Screen Gems, among others.

In addition to his notable cases, Dossick recently represented a prominent screenwriter and director in a major film project and advocated for a boxing manager in a commission dispute with a sports promotion company.

Peter Weil, Managing Partner of Glaser Weil, described Dossick as an exceptional lawyer with intellectual brilliance, warmth, humor, and integrity. His sudden passing is a significant loss to the legal community, and he will be deeply missed.

Prior to joining Glaser Weil, Dossick had an impressive career at Reed Smith, Katten Muchin Rosenman, and Hill Wynne Troop & Meisinger. He was recognized by the Legal 500, Best Lawyers in America, and was named a Southern California Super Lawyer multiple times.

Dossick is survived by his wife, Joanne, and children Artie and Carly, leaving behind a legacy of legal excellence and dedication to his clients.
