Gleeful school teachers celebrate assassination of Charlie Kirk in horrific posts
Following the tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk, disturbing posts celebrating his death surfaced online, with school teachers among those expressing their twisted views. The shocking reactions from educators shed light on the presence of unhinged ideologues within the education system, a stark contrast to the values Kirk had been advocating for through Turning Point USA.
One such example involved Samantha Marengo, a special education teacher at King Elementary School in Framingham, Mass., who gleefully sang “God Bless America” in front of a breaking news report covering Kirk’s assassination. The video, which has since been deleted, was shared widely online, raising concerns about the individuals responsible for shaping young minds.
In another instance, a public school teacher in Naples, New York, referred to Kirk as an “aspiring Goebbels” in a Facebook post, likening him to the chief propagandist of the Nazi party and expressing relief at his demise. Similarly, a teacher at the Department of Defense Education Activity at Fort Bragg, NC, called Kirk a “garbage human being” and advocated for violence to bring about change in the country.
Despite the vile comments made by these educators, only a few school districts have responded to the outcry so far. In Southside High School in Greenville, SC, a social studies teacher was fired for celebrating Kirk’s assassination, while Oskaloosa High School in Iowa took action against an art teacher who wrote “1 Nazi down” on Facebook after the shooting.
Other teachers, such as Joshua Baker from Pasadena, Texas, also faced backlash for their insensitive remarks about Kirk’s death. The disturbing trend extended to Catholic school teachers as well, with one from St. Josaphat Catholic School in Chicago suggesting that Kirk was a “victim of his own philosophy” and offering insincere “thoughts and prayers” in response to his tragic end.
As the posts from these educators sparked outrage online, many of them quickly deleted their comments and online accounts. The incidents serve as a reminder of the importance of promoting tolerance and respect in educational environments, and the need for accountability when such hateful rhetoric emerges.
