Global X Debuts Three New ETFs On Cboe Canada, Including Bitcoin-Focused Income Funds

Global X Investments Canada Inc. has recently unveiled three new ETFs on Cboe Canada, expanding its presence in the Canadian ETF market by offering products that provide exposure to U.S. small-cap equities and Bitcoin. The newly introduced ETFs—Global X Enhanced Russell 2000 Covered Call ETF (RSCL), Global X Bitcoin Covered Call ETF (BCCC), and Global X Enhanced Bitcoin Covered Call ETF (BCCL)—are now accessible for trading under their respective tickers.

Chris McHaney, Executive Vice President, Investment Management & Strategy at Global X, expressed excitement about the launch of the Global X Bitcoin Covered Call ETF (BCCC) and Global X Enhanced Bitcoin Covered Call ETF (BCCL), stating that investors now have two options to gain exposure to the price of Bitcoin while benefiting from twice monthly distributions, a unique feature in the Canadian market. The demand for investments that offer consistent returns for Canadians, as well as the interest in cryptocurrency-focused ETFs, has been significant.

RSCL aims to mirror the performance of the Russell 2000 RIC Capped Index, providing investors with access to small-cap U.S. equities. It also seeks to generate monthly income by writing covered call options on the underlying assets. On the other hand, BCCC and BCCL are designed to offer exposure to the price of Bitcoin while generating income through call option premiums. Both Bitcoin-linked ETFs will pay distributions twice per month, setting a new standard in the Canadian market.

BCCC primarily invests in ETFs holding Bitcoin and writes covered call options on up to 50% of its portfolio to generate consistent yield. It does not hedge its exposure to foreign currencies. BCCL, on the other hand, incorporates leverage by targeting a 125% leverage ratio to amplify exposure and potential returns. Like BCCC, BCCL employs a dynamic covered call strategy and does not hedge its currency exposure.

With the addition of these new ETFs, the total number of Global X ETFs listed on Cboe Canada now stands at sixteen, showcasing the company’s rapid growth and commitment to innovation in thematic and income-generating strategies. Cboe Canada remains a key hub for ETF activity, facilitating approximately 15% of all volume traded in Canadian-listed securities.

Victor Werny, Head of North American ETP Listings at Cboe Global Markets, expressed enthusiasm about Global X’s latest ETF launch on Cboe Canada, highlighting the firm’s leadership in creating accessible investment vehicles for sophisticated strategies. He looks forward to further collaboration across Cboe’s global footprint as Global X continues to introduce new investment solutions to the market.

Investors can easily access the new ETFs through standard brokerage platforms available across Canada. This expansion of Global X’s ETF offerings on Cboe Canada provides investors with more opportunities to diversify their portfolios and capitalize on emerging market trends.
