‘God of War’ Live-Action Series Casts ‘Boots’ Alum Max Parker
Max Parker Joins Amazon Prime Video’s “God of War” Series
Max Parker has been announced as the newest addition to the cast of Amazon Prime Video’s highly anticipated “God of War” live-action TV series. Parker will be starring alongside Ryan Hurst and Teresa Palmer in the series, taking on the role of Heimdall. The show will follow the story of the recent “God of War” video games, focusing on Kratos as he raises his son Atreus while facing off against the Norse gods.
The logline for the series reveals that it will center around father and son duo Kratos (played by Ryan Hurst) and Atreus on a journey to spread the ashes of their wife and mother, Faye. As they navigate their adventures, Kratos aims to teach Atreus how to be a better god, while Atreus tries to impart lessons on humanity to his father.
Heimdall, played by Max Parker, is described as the Watchman of Asgard and one of Odin’s sons. With the unique ability to anticipate events before they happen, Heimdall is portrayed as handsome and dynamic but feels unappreciated by his family. Constantly seeking to improve his status and power within the hierarchy, Heimdall is a complex character with ambitions of his own.
Parker, known for his role in Netflix’s “Boots” and other projects like “Vampire Academy” and “Emmerdale,” is represented by Thrive Talent, TalentWorks, 3 Arts Entertainment, and Myman Greenspan.
Production for “God of War” is currently underway in Vancouver, with Ronald D. Moore serving as writer, executive producer, and showrunner. Frederick E.O. Toye will direct the first two episodes, with a talented team of producers including Maril Davis, Cory Barlog, Naren Shankar, and more.
The series is a collaboration between Sony Pictures Television, Amazon MGM Studios, PlayStation Productions, and Tall Ship Productions, with a stellar lineup of co-executive producers on board. “God of War” has already received a two-season order, promising fans an exciting and epic adaptation of the beloved video game franchise.
