Golden Globes Reveals 2026 Timeline, Eligibility Rules and Guidelines
The Golden Globes has officially announced its schedule, updated eligibility criteria, and an exciting new addition to its lineup: the Best Podcast Award. The prestigious awards ceremony is set to air live on Sunday, January 11, on CBS and Paramount+, with the talented Nikki Glazer returning as host.
Submissions for the 2026 Golden Globes Motion Picture and Television categories will open on August 1, while entries for the Best Podcast Award will open on October 1. All submissions for Motion Picture, Television, and Podcast must be completed online by October 31.
Television and podcast ballots will be sent to voters by November 17, with nominees being revealed on December 8. Final ballots will be sent out on December 19, and all votes must be submitted by January 3, 2026, before 5:00 PM PST.
The Best Podcast Award will require eligible podcasts to have released at least 6 episodes between January 1, 2025, and September 30, 2025, with each episode being a minimum of 30 minutes long. Only the top 25 eligible podcasts will qualify, with a final selection of 6 podcasts making it into the category.
