Google Pixel Watch 4 Leaked Again, But Is Ugly Secret Still Hiding?
The Pixel 10 phones and Google’s upcoming flagship smartwatch, the Pixel Watch 4, have been extensively leaked in recent times. Noted leaker Evan Blass has been sharing updates about the Pixel devices ahead of the Made by Google event on 20 August. While the leaked images don’t reveal anything new, there are plenty of new details to digest.
The display of the Pixel Watch 4 will reportedly be named ‘Actua 360’ and offer a peak brightness of up to 3000 nits. The addition of dual-band GPS will enhance tracking accuracy. The leaked information also suggests that the watch will feature ECG, SpO2 (blood oxygen), breathing rate, HRV (Heart Rate Variability), and loss of pulse detection. The battery life is expected to be 30 hours for the 41mm model and 40 hours for the 45mm model, even with the always-on display.
The smaller 41mm model will be available in ‘Gold’ color, while the 45mm model will come in ‘Silver’, ‘Obsidian’ (black), and the new ‘Moonstone’ (dark grey). The Pixel Watch 4 will offer features like Gemini built-in with AI text suggestions, 40+ exercise modes with real-time stats, a custom run plan builder, and fall detection that can automatically contact emergency services.
One of the standout features of the Pixel Watch 4 is the inclusion of two years of free data for LTE models, provided by Google Fi. This could be a significant advantage for users, although the offer may be limited to the US and does not support calls.
However, despite the abundance of leaked information, there is still one aspect of the Pixel Watch 4 that remains a mystery. The left side of the main body, specifically the new charging pogo pins, has not been revealed in the leaked images. The design of these pogo pins could potentially impact the overall aesthetics of the device. The new charging dock is said to be 25% faster and allows for charging on its side for better visibility.
The design choice may also be related to making the device repairable, but the appearance of the side-mounted pogo pins remains unknown. The aesthetics of the pogo pins may vary based on the color of the Pixel Watch 4. It is speculated that Google may not unveil this design aspect at the launch event and that the smartwatch may be released in October alongside the Pixel 10 Pro Fold.
