Google unveils new Pixel 10 phone models and AI features at star-studded event
Google hosted a star-studded event in Brooklyn, New York, on Wednesday to unveil its latest suite of products, including the highly anticipated next generation of Pixel phones. The event featured appearances by celebrities such as Jimmy Fallon, Alex Cooper, Lando Norris, and Nick Jonas, who helped showcase the new products to the audience.
The centerpiece of Google’s new product lineup is the Pixel 10 phones, which come in four different models. These phones are packed with new AI features that aim to enhance user experience, including the “Magic Cue” feature that anticipates users’ information needs and the “Camera Coach” tool that suggests the best framing and lighting for photos. Rick Osterloh, Google’s senior vice president of platforms and devices, emphasized the company’s focus on personalizing and proactive technology to meet the needs of users.
In addition to the Pixel phones, Google also introduced the Pixel 4 Watch, the company’s first smartwatch equipped with Gemini, Google’s AI assistant. The watch offers new health and safety features, including emergency satellite communications. Gemini will also be integrated into other devices such as TVs, smart speakers, smart displays, and cars in the upcoming fall season.
One of the highlights of the event was the announcement of a partnership with NBA star Stephen Curry, who will serve as a “performance adviser” for Google’s products in a multi-year collaboration. This partnership aims to leverage Curry’s expertise and influence to enhance the user experience of Google’s devices.
The pricing for the Pixel 10 phones varies, with the basic model starting at $800 and the Pro and Pro XL models priced at $1,000 and $1,200 respectively. A foldable version of the phone is also available for $1,800. The phones will be available in stores starting August 28, with the Pixel 10 Pro Fold set to launch on October 9.
Overall, Google’s latest product lineup showcases the company’s commitment to integrating AI technology into its devices to provide users with a more personalized and proactive experience. With the support of celebrity endorsements and strategic partnerships, Google is poised to make a significant impact in the tech industry with its innovative products.
