Government shutdown updates: Johnson tells House members to begin returning to Washington immediately

President Donald Trump has taken a hardline stance against air traffic controllers who have been calling out of work during the ongoing government shutdown. In a recent tweet, Trump demanded that all air traffic controllers return to work immediately, threatening to dock the pay of those who refuse to comply. He also announced plans to offer a $10,000 bonus to those controllers who have continued to work without pay during the shutdown.

Trump’s tweet read, “All Air Traffic Controllers must get back to work, NOW!!! Anyone who doesn’t will be substantially ‘docked.’ For those Air Traffic Controllers who were GREAT PATRIOTS, and didn’t take ANY TIME OFF for the ‘Democrat Shutdown Hoax,’ I will be recommending a BONUS of $10,000 per person for distinguished service to our Country.”

The President expressed his disappointment towards those who have taken time off during the shutdown, despite assurances that they would eventually be paid in full. He criticized them for not stepping up to help the country during this difficult time. Trump made it clear that he was not happy with those who chose to complain and take time off.

Furthermore, Trump warned that those who have taken time off may face consequences in the future. He stated, “You will have a negative mark, at least in my mind, against your record. If you want to leave service in the near future, please do not hesitate to do so, with NO payment or severance of any kind!”

The President emphasized that those who choose to leave their positions will be quickly replaced by individuals he referred to as “true Patriots.” He expressed confidence that these new recruits would excel in handling the state-of-the-art equipment that the government is currently in the process of ordering.

As tensions continue to rise between the Trump administration and air traffic controllers, the future of air travel in the United States remains uncertain. It is clear that President Trump is determined to ensure that essential services are maintained during the government shutdown, even if it means taking a hardline approach with those who choose to protest.
