Grandma who saw accused killer Luciano Frattolin wonders if could have saved his daughter
A tragic incident in Ticonderoga, New York has left a grandmother haunted by the thought that she may have seen accused killer Luciano Frattolin moments before he allegedly drowned his 9-year-old daughter, Melina. Rebecca Kulickowski, the grandmother, recounted driving past a “skinny, tall guy” near the location where the crime took place and now wonders if she could have done something to prevent the tragedy.
Kulickowski described the moment she passed by a Toyota Prius stopped in the road and saw the suspicious man running up a hill near a wooded area. She couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off and regrets not stopping to investigate further. The next day, when an Amber Alert was issued for Melina, Kulickowski immediately contacted the authorities, fearing the worst.
The Amber Alert was triggered by Frattolin’s claim that his daughter had been kidnapped, a claim that later turned out to be a hoax. Melina’s body was discovered in Eagle Lake, pinned under a log, not far from where Kulickowski had seen the man. Frattolin, who had custody of his daughter at the time, was charged with second-degree murder and concealment of a human corpse.
According to reports, Frattolin allegedly strangled his daughter to death shortly after she spoke to her mother and before he reported her missing. He was arrested on Monday and pleaded not guilty in court. He is scheduled to appear in court again on Friday to face the charges against him.
The heartbreaking case has left the community in shock and has left Kulickowski grappling with the guilt of not intervening when she had the chance. The tragic loss of young Melina has sparked outrage and calls for justice as the investigation into the incident continues.
