Grieving family of murdered South African superyacht ‘golden girl’ travel to Bahamas to face alleged killer

The tragic death of South African crew member Paige Bell has left her family devastated as they seek justice for the heinous crime committed against their daughter. Bell, known as a “golden girl” among her peers, was found dead in the Bahamas just days before her 21st birthday, with Mexican national Brigido Munoz charged with her murder.

The grieving family has traveled to the Caribbean nation to face Munoz in court, as they begin the painful process of bringing their beloved daughter home. The court heard disturbing details of Bell’s death, including slash wounds on her neck and arms, indicating a struggle with her alleged attacker. It is believed that Bell may have been sexually assaulted before her death, although Munoz has only been charged with murder at this time.

Munoz was found with injuries on his arms, described as self-inflicted during a suicide attempt. He remains hospitalized and will be held without bail until his hearing on Nov. 20. The two crew members worked on the Far From It superyacht, which offered luxury charters in the Bahamas. Bell, originally from Johannesburg, was remembered fondly by her loved ones and former colleagues for her vibrant energy and positivity.

Despite the tragic circumstances of her death, Bell’s dream of becoming a yacht crew manager and inspiring others to be their best selves lives on. A GoFundMe has been set up to assist her family with bringing her body home and covering funeral expenses. The investigation into Bell’s death is ongoing, with authorities still working to uncover the full details of the tragic event.

As the family continues to grieve their loss and seek justice for Bell, they are supported by a community of friends and colleagues who remember her as a shining light in their lives. The memory of Paige Bell will live on as they work to ensure that her legacy is honored and justice is served for the senseless crime that took her life.
