Man Attacks Elderly Woman in Brooklyn Tire Shop Robbery
In a disturbing incident that took place at a tire shop in Brooklyn, a man violently assaulted a 73-year-old woman during a robbery, highlighting the recent surge in attacks targeting elderly individuals in New York City.
The assailant grabbed the woman’s phone, pushed her to the ground, and proceeded to kick her repeatedly before brandishing a firearm and threatening her verbally. The terrifying ordeal unfolded at JC Tires Shop near Rockaway Parkway and Avenue N in Canarsie around 8:40 am, as reported by the NYPD.
The suspect, described as wearing a green jacket, camouflage-colored pants, a black hat, and a black facemask hanging off his chin, fled the scene heading southbound on Rockaway Parkway after the attack.
Although the victim received on-site medical attention from paramedics, she did not require hospitalization, according to the authorities.
Surveillance footage of the perpetrator was released by the police on Saturday night to aid in the investigation.

This incident follows the recent arrest of Jamel McGriff, a career criminal charged with killing and burning an elderly couple in their Queens home. McGriff callously confessed to the heinous crimes, showcasing a disturbing trend of violence against the elderly in the city.
Additionally, last month, Servin Maradiaga allegedly sexually assaulted a 71-year-old woman while she was asleep in her Brooklyn residence, further underscoring the vulnerability of older individuals to such attacks.
