Gun-wielding goons take off with boxes of Apple loot during brazen Long Island heist
A daring robbery took place outside a luxurious Long Island shopping mall over the weekend, where a group of armed bandits stole several boxes of Apple products. The incident occurred at the Americana Manhasset mall on Saturday morning when the thieves, dressed in all black, approached two workers making a delivery at the Apple Store. The robbers brandished guns and forcibly took the loot from the workers’ truck before fleeing the scene around 8:05 a.m., according to the Nassau County Police Department.
Fortunately, the two workers, both 65-year-old men, were unharmed during the robbery, which occurred while the stores were closed. The victims immediately contacted the authorities after the thieves made their escape. The brazen heist left customers at the mall shaken, as such incidents are rare in the upscale shopping district.
The Americana Manhasset mall is known for its high-end retailers, including Chanel, Prada, Rolex, and Valentino, making it a prime target for criminals looking to steal valuable merchandise. Despite the swift response from law enforcement, the robbers remain at large as of Sunday afternoon, with police continuing their search for the suspects.
The community and shoppers have been left shocked by the audacity of the robbery, with one individual expressing their disbelief at the news. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of security measures in place to protect both customers and employees at shopping centers, especially those housing luxury brands.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the robbery or the suspects to come forward and assist in the investigation. As the search for the perpetrators continues, residents and visitors are advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to help prevent future crimes of this nature.
