Gunmen in ski masks shoot two men dead outside NYC park, then escape on moped: cops

Two individuals tragically lost their lives in a brazen ambush outside a Bronx park early on Monday morning. The victims, a 21-year-old man and a 22-year-old man, were shot by two gunmen wearing ski masks around 6 a.m. on Brush Avenue near Schley Avenue in Throggs Neck, just outside Ferry Point Park. The 21-year-old victim was struck in the torso and buttocks, while the 22-year-old victim was hit in the armpit and shoulder. Despite being rushed to Jacobi Medical Center, both victims succumbed to their injuries.

Law enforcement sources reported that the assailants fled the scene on a moped and were still at large by Monday afternoon. The suspects were described as wearing ski masks during the attack. A thorough search of the area yielded 13 shell casings and five live rounds, indicating the intensity of the shooting.

The motive behind the deadly assault remains unknown as investigators continue to piece together the events leading up to the tragedy. The identities of the victims have not been disclosed pending notification of their families.
