Hard-partying crypto bro looks haggard in NYC court as he awaits indictment in sick kidnap, torture case

The notorious crypto king, William Duplessie, appeared worn out and disheveled as he faced a judge in Manhattan Criminal Court on Friday. The 33-year-old was clad in crumpled jail attire as he awaited the indictment in the harrowing kidnapping case involving Italian millionaire Michael Valentino Teofrasto Carturan.
Standing at an imposing height of 6 feet 5 inches, Duplessie, along with his accomplice John Woeltz, 37, is accused of holding Carturan captive inside a luxurious SoHo townhouse for nearly three weeks. The victim, aged 28, endured brutal torture, including being cut with a chainsaw, before managing to escape on May 23.
Woeltz was apprehended on the same day, while Duplessie surrendered himself after a stint of partying in the Hamptons. Despite his reputation as a party animal, Duplessie appeared fatigued and disheveled during his court appearances, with bags under his eyes and a perpetual frown.
His attorney, Sam Talkin, refrained from making any comments following the hearing. The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office announced that an indictment had been secured against Duplessie, which will remain sealed until his arraignment on June 11.
The shocking case of crypto torture continues to unravel, shedding light on the dark side of the cryptocurrency world and the lengths some individuals are willing to go for financial gain. The saga of William Duplessie and his alleged involvement in the brutal kidnapping serves as a stark reminder of the dangers lurking within the digital realm.
