here are the five popular items getting yanked
In recent weeks, Amazon has removed around 500 thousand units of various products from its online store due to safety concerns leading to manufacturer recalls. These recalls include items such as fans that pose fire hazards and baby crib attachments that could potentially suffocate infants, as reported by Newsweek.
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission highlighted that many of the recalled products, mostly imported goods, presented serious risks, including the possibility of death, especially to infants and children.
Among the products being recalled are the Buddy Portable Misting Fans from IcyBreeze Cooling, which have been reported to catch fire due to lithium-ion batteries overheating. These fans, with over 22,600 units sold between November 2023 and August 2024, have led to seven overheating incidents, including two fires.
Furthermore, Chinese-made Baby Loungers and Crib Bumpers from LXDHSTRA, sold on Amazon from May to August 2025, are also being pulled from the market due to safety concerns. The Baby Loungers were found to have dangerously low sides, overly thick sleeping pads, and wide foot openings, prompting their recall on September 18th.
Additionally, over 480,000 Anker Power Banks by Anker Innovations have been recalled for overheating lithium-ion batteries that could cause fires. Models A1647, A1652, A1257, A1618, and A1689 sold between January and July 2024 have been associated with 33 fire and explosion incidents, resulting in four burn injuries.
YooxArmor also recalled 1,800 multi-purpose kids’ helmets sold on Amazon for failing to meet federal bicycle helmet safety standards, posing a risk of head injury to children. Similarly, Youbeien pulled crib mechanisms from GKKBSJ on Amazon due to unsafe battery compartments in their remote controls, which could lead to internal burns or death if button batteries are ingested.
Lastly, laundry detergent from Woolite Delicates sold on Amazon was recalled in March due to the risk of exposure to harmful bacteria that can cause severe infections.
