Here are Two Reasons Why BTC May Rally to $85k

Bitcoin (BTC) price has seen a resurgence, climbing back towards the $70,000 mark on Tuesday, February 10, in the North American session. After bouncing back from a demand zone around $68.5k over the past couple of days, the leading cryptocurrency is now eyeing a retest of its supply zone around $71,250.

However, despite the price increase, Bitcoin has experienced a notable drop in its Open Interest (OI), which has contributed to a bearish sentiment in the market. Data from CoinGlass reveals that BTC’s OI has fallen from over $90 billion in October 2025 to approximately $45.7 billion at present.

One of the primary reasons why Bitcoin price may surge towards $85k is the renewed interest from whales. Onchain data analysis indicates that Bitcoin whales holding more than 1000 BTC have been accumulating assets since the beginning of the year. Additionally, the number of Bitcoin addresses with a balance of 1000 BTC has increased by 50 in recent weeks.

Despite retail traders showing reluctance to buy Bitcoin at current levels due to fears of further capitulation, the accumulation by whales suggests a potential price rebound in the near future.

Another factor that could drive Bitcoin price towards $85k is the unfilled gap in the CME Futures market between $79k and $85k. Historically, any gaps in the Bitcoin CME Futures have been filled, making it likely for the price to rally towards $85k to close the gap.

Although the outlook for Bitcoin price looks positive in the short term, there is still a sense of intense fear in the market regarding potential further capitulation. Some traders are even predicting a scenario similar to the 2022 bear market in the coming weeks.

In conclusion, while Bitcoin price may have the potential to reach $85k in the near future, caution is advised due to the prevailing market sentiment and the possibility of a market downturn. It is essential for investors to conduct thorough research and exercise prudence before making any investment decisions in the volatile cryptocurrency market.
