Honor Magic 8 Pro Flagship Smartphone Announced

Honor has recently unveiled its newest flagship smartphone, the Honor Magic 8 Pro, which comes packed with a range of impressive features. Serving as the successor to the Honor Magic 7 Pro, this phone retains the familiar design with the signature ‘squircle’ camera module and rounded rear panel. However, upon closer inspection, it becomes evident that the Honor Magic 8 Pro is slightly smaller in size, measuring 161.15 x 75 x 8.4mm and weighing 213g (10g lighter than its predecessor).

Despite its smaller dimensions, the Honor Magic 8 Pro features a 6.71-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1256 x 2808. The display offers a refresh rate of 1 to 120Hz, courtesy of LTPO technology, along with 4320Hz PWM Dimming and a peak HDR brightness of 6,000 nits. In high brightness mode, the display can reach up to 1,800 nits. Additionally, the phone boasts IP69K water resistance certification, making it one of the most durable smartphones on the market.

Under the hood, the Honor Magic 8 Pro is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, ensuring top-notch performance similar to the OnePlus 15. It is paired with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The device features a triple camera system, including a 50MP main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide camera, and a remarkable 200MP periscope telephoto camera with 3.7x zoom.

One standout feature of the Honor Magic 8 Pro is its “Magic Colour” AI-powered color engine, capable of extracting 16.77 million colors and allowing users to adjust the tone of their photos in real time. The phone also sports a 50MP selfie camera with a 3D ToF sensor for secure facial recognition.

In terms of battery life, the Honor Magic 8 Pro is equipped with a 6,270mAh battery, supporting 100W wired charging and 80W wireless charging. The device runs on MagicOS 10, which incorporates AI tools and Google Gemini for enhanced functionality. Honor promises seven years of OS and security updates, aligning with top competitors like the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL and the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra.

The Honor Magic 8 Pro is currently available for purchase on the Honor website and other retailers in Sunrise Gold, Sky Cyan, or Black color options, priced at £1,099.99.
