House Democrat Hits Trump With Nothing But Receipts Over His ‘Phenomenal’ Health Care Fail
During a session on the House floor, Rep. Jim McGovern (D-Mass.) highlighted President Donald Trump’s failure to deliver on his promises of a new health care plan to replace the Affordable Care Act. He referenced a list of broken promises made by the President.
Rep. McGovern countered Rep. Virginia Foxx’s (R-N.C.) claim that Republicans had proposed alternatives to the ACA by stating, “But the truth is they’ve always said they have a plan but they’ve never had a plan.”
He reminded everyone of Trump’s pledge back in February 2016 to replace Obamacare with something better.
McGovern highlighted Trump’s repeated claims of a superior health care plan that never materialized despite various timelines being set.
He pointed out Trump’s promises during the 2024 debate against Kamala Harris and emphasized the lack of action on the proposed health care plan.
McGovern criticized the empty rhetoric surrounding health care and the failure to provide a plan that benefits average Americans.
The House recently passed a Republican health care bill without extending ACA subsidies, a move unlikely to be supported by the Senate.
Four moderate House Republicans joined a Democratic petition to extend the subsidies for three years, but the vote may be postponed until the following year.
