Hyundai recalls nearly 569,000 Palisade SUVs over faulty air bag

Hyundai Recalls Nearly 569,000 Palisade SUVs Due to Airbag Issue

Hyundai Motor America has issued a recall for almost 569,000 Palisade SUVs over concerns regarding the third-row airbags. The issue could potentially prevent the airbags from deploying correctly in the event of a crash, posing a safety risk to passengers.

The affected Palisades fall within the model years 2020 to 2025, as stated in a notice from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The NHTSA has pointed out that these SUVs do not comply with federal safety standards due to the malfunction in their side-curtain airbags.

The decision to recall the vehicles came after Hyundai conducted compliance tests in December 2025, which uncovered the airbag issue. While a remedy is currently in development, it has not yet been announced by the NHTSA. Hyundai has assured that they will cover any out-of-pocket costs for owners to rectify the problem.

Owners of the affected vehicles can expect to receive notification letters from Hyundai by March 23, 2026. The recall number associated with this issue is 292.
