I Missed You, Google Pixel 10 Pro XL

After spending three months away from the Pixel 10 Pro XL, I recently switched back and immediately regretted not doing it sooner. As a phone reviewer, I had to test out other devices like the Motorola Edge 70 and Poco F8 Ultra, but I found myself missing the Pixel 10 Pro XL more and more.

Returning to the Pixel software felt like coming home. The familiar UI, lack of bloatware, and exclusive Pixel features like Now Playing and Call Screen made using the phone a joy. The AI features and regular updates only added to the overall experience.

The design of the Pixel 10 Pro XL may seem understated compared to other flashy phones, but I’ve come to appreciate its sleek and classy look. The matt coating on the rear keeps fingerprints at bay, and the IP68 water and dust resistance rating ensure durability.

One of the standout features of the Pixel 10 Pro XL is its camera system. While it may not compete with DSLR-like capabilities, the reliability and quality of the photos it produces are unmatched. From the main lens to the telephoto and ultrawide lenses, the camera system delivers consistently impressive results.

The 3D face unlock feature on the Pixel 10 Pro XL is fast and reliable, making it a convenient way to unlock the phone and access various apps securely. The ultrasonic fingerprint scanner is also effective, but the face unlock feature is often quicker and more seamless.

Despite concerns about the performance of the Tensor G5 chipset, I found the Pixel 10 Pro XL to be fast, responsive, and more than capable for everyday use. While it may not match up to other flagship processors in benchmarks, the real-world performance met my needs without any issues.

The only downside I found with the Pixel 10 Pro XL is its weight. At 232g, it’s one of the heaviest non-folding phones on the market, which can make it uncomfortable to use for extended periods. However, the overall package of the Pixel 10 Pro XL, including its display, fast charging capabilities, and compatibility with Pixelsnap accessories, makes it a near-perfect choice for me.

In conclusion, the Pixel 10 Pro XL remains my top choice for a smartphone, and I can see why it was named the best phone in Tech Advisor’s end-of-year awards. Looking ahead to 2026, I anticipate that future iterations like the Galaxy S26 and Pixel 11 will continue to push the boundaries of smartphone technology.
