ICE asks public for help locating illegal Jordanian migrant accused trying to ‘breach’ Quantico

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) are seeking assistance from the public in locating an illegal Jordanian migrant, Mohammad Khair Hasan Mohammad Dabous, who allegedly trespassed onto a major Marine Corps base in Virginia last year. Dabous, 28, entered the US as a foreign student on September 11, 2022, but failed to attend classes, according to ICE.
Dabous, along with another Jordanian national, Hasan Yousef Hamdan, 32, were arrested on May 3, 2024, for trespassing at Marine Corps Base Quantico in Virginia. Dabous drove onto the base in a box truck with Hamdan in the passenger seat and refused to stop his vehicle at a checkpoint for inspection, prompting officers to deploy vehicle denial barriers to stop him.
Both men were detained and handed over to ICE but were released the following month after posting bond on their immigration cases. Hamdan has since been re-arrested by ICE, but Dabous remains at large. ICE believes Dabous may be living in the Los Angeles area, specifically Orange County, California. He is described as a “person of interest” and the public is urged to contact 866-DHS-2-ICE with any information on his whereabouts.
Captain Michael Curtis, a spokesman for the base, revealed that Dabous claimed they were making a delivery to the US Post Office in the Town of Quantico, stating they worked for a company subcontracted by Amazon. However, they lacked approved credentials to enter the military installation, leading to their arrest.
Dabous argued that the incident was due to a language barrier. ICE is actively seeking to locate him, and the public’s assistance is crucial in apprehending him. The agency is determined to ensure that individuals who illegally trespass onto military bases are held accountable for their actions.
