Jared Padalecki Talks His ‘Supernatural’ Reunion in ‘The Boys’ Season 5
Jared Padalecki is gearing up for his upcoming role in “The Boys” Season 5, but he admits that the uncertainty surrounding his character and reunion with his “Supernatural” co-star Jensen Ackles is causing him some anxiety.
In a recent interview with Business Insider, Padalecki expressed his nerves about the new role, stating, “I don’t know a whole lot about it, which is effing terrifying.” He went on to explain that he is unsure of how his character will interact with Ackles’ character, Soldier Boy, in the series.
“I don’t know what we’re doing. I don’t know if we bump into each other. I don’t know much about it. They’re still trying to write and figure out who’s gonna be there. But it’ll be the end of this month,” Padalecki shared.
While details about Padalecki’s character have not been revealed yet, it has been confirmed that another “Supernatural” alum, Misha Collins, will also be joining the cast. Padalecki credited Eric Kripke, the creator of both “Supernatural” and “The Boys,” for convincing him to come on board.
“I know Eric Kripke very well. I know ‘The Boys’ very well. He’s like, ‘Hey, you wanna come play?’ I’m like, ‘Yes, I think?’” Padalecki said.
Despite his excitement for the opportunity, Padalecki admitted to feeling intimidated by the prospect of joining the popular series. “It’s effing terrifying for me,” he confessed. However, his wife, Genevieve Padalecki, encouraged him to take on the challenge, even if it meant playing a “weird role.”
In a light-hearted moment, Padalecki joked about preparing for any potential nudity in the series, saying, “Literally my text to Eric Kripke was like, ‘Hey, if I’m getting naked, just give me like a month’s notice to eat broccoli and rice and chicken breasts and all day long just sit there doing push-ups.’”
