Vice President JD Vance Details Whereabouts During Venezuela President Capture Operation
Vice President JD Vance recently revealed new details about his location during the US special forces operation to capture Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro last month, shedding light on his involvement in the high-stakes mission.
During an interview with the Daily Mail, Vance disclosed that he was situated in a van, in a mobile Situation Room approximately 20 miles away from Mar-a-Lago at the time of the operation. He recounted receiving a call from Secretary of State Marco Rubio around 10:30 p.m. on January 2, informing him that the operation was set to take place that night.
While contemplating whether to return to Mar-a-Lago with Rubio, Vance explained that the logistics of arriving with a large Secret Service detail posed challenges that led them to decide against it.

Despite not being physically present at Mar-a-Lago during the operation, Vance emphasized that he was fully informed and engaged throughout the mission. He expressed confidence in the decision to monitor the operation remotely to maintain operational security, which ultimately contributed to its success without any leaks.
Images released by the White House following Maduro’s arrest depicted President Trump alongside Rubio, War Secretary Pete Hegseth, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, and Gen. Dan Caine, raising questions about Vance’s absence. However, Vance clarified that his involvement was integral to the operation’s success.

Following Maduro and his wife’s apprehension at their compound in Caracas, Vance affirmed his active participation in the mission by maintaining constant communication with President Trump and the team for the duration of the operation. He dismissed speculations about any discord between him and the administration, emphasizing his dedicated involvement in the operation.
Addressing concerns about his absence at Mar-a-Lago, Vance stated that the media’s attempts to sensationalize the situation were unfounded. He underscored his unwavering commitment to ensuring the mission’s success and preserving operational security throughout the operation.
