Jenna Dewan Uses Fake Tanner on 12-Year-Old Daughter for Dance Contest

Jenna Dewan recently shared a lighthearted glimpse into her 12-year-old daughter Everly Tatum’s preparation for an Irish dance competition. The Step Up star, who shares Everly with ex-husband Channing Tatum, took to her Instagram Story on Saturday, October 25, to humorously reveal that one of the essential steps in getting Everly ready for her performance was applying “instant tanner” at 7 a.m. Now that’s dedication!

The early morning preparation seemed to have paid off, as a later video on Dewan’s Instagram Story showcased Everly effortlessly performing her formal routine. With Dewan’s extensive dance background, having started her career as a backup dancer for Janet Jackson, Celine Dion, and Pink, she is well-equipped to guide her daughter’s journey into competitive dancing.

Despite both Dewan and Tatum coming from strong performance backgrounds, Everly initially showed no interest in dancing. However, to their surprise, she recently expressed a desire to take up Irish dancing on her own accord. Dewan shared that Everly’s newfound interest in Irish dance caught both her parents off guard, but they fully support her passion for it.

The proud mom mentioned that Everly is dedicated to her Irish dance classes and is “in it to win it” in her own unique way. Dewan also hinted that her son Callum may follow in his sister’s footsteps, as he already shows a natural inclination for rhythm and music, much like his dad, Steve Kazee, who has a background in musical theater.

Dewan and Tatum, who got together in 2006 after meeting on the set of Step Up and tied the knot in 2009, have been co-parenting Everly amicably following their 2018 separation and divorce. Tatum acknowledged that the divorce was tough on the whole family but emphasized the importance of working through any issues for the sake of their daughter.

Since their split, Tatum has had relationships with Jessie J and Zoë Kravitz, while Dewan announced her engagement to Kazee in February 2020. The couple welcomed son Callum in March 2020 and daughter Rhiannon in June 2024. Dewan and Kazee expressed their overflowing love and joy upon Rhiannon’s arrival, welcoming her into their world with open arms.
