Jennifer Runyon, Beloved Actress from “Ghostbusters” and “Charles in Charge,” Passes Away at 65

Jennifer Runyon, known for her memorable roles in iconic films and television shows such as “Ghostbusters” and “Charles in Charge,” sadly passed away on March 6 at the age of 65.

Her close friend, Erin Murphy, took to Facebook to announce the news, expressing her deep sorrow over Runyon’s battle with cancer. Murphy fondly remembered her as a special lady and extended her condolences to Runyon’s family and children.

Runyon began her acting career with a bang, making her debut in the 1980 slasher film “To All a Good Night.” She then went on to star in popular comedies like “Up the Creek” and the blockbuster hit “Ghostbusters” in 1984.

Her talent also shone on the small screen, with a lead role as Gwendolyn Pierce in the sitcom “Charles in Charge” and a memorable portrayal of Cindy Brady in the TV movie “A Very Brady Christmas.” Runyon’s diverse acting credits include appearances in “Beverly Hills, 90210,” “Murder, She Wrote,” and the comedy “18 Again!”

Born on April 1, 1960, in Chicago, Illinois, Runyon was the daughter of radio announcer Jim Runyon and actress Jane Roberts.

In 1991, she tied the knot with Todd Corman, a basketball coach with a passion for film and television production. The couple shared two children, Wyatt and Bayley.

By 2014, Runyon had shifted her focus to teaching, taking a step back from her acting career. Her Facebook tribute post described her as a loving and devoted individual, leaving behind a legacy of joy and cherished memories.

“As we mourn the loss of our dear Jenn, we take solace in knowing that she is watching over us with her radiant smile. Rest in peace, our beloved friend,” read the heartfelt message.
