Jimmy Kimmel Offers Trump ‘Destiny’ Moment In Direct Message
Jimmy Kimmel surprised everyone on Tuesday night with an intriguing proposition for Donald Trump. This came after the president expressed his intention to attend the White House Correspondents’ Association’s annual dinner for the first time during his tenure.
Kimmel noted the unconventional choice of mentalist Oz Pearlman as this year’s host instead of a comedian. He humorously remarked, “We’ll have a mentalist and a mental case onstage together.”
Having hosted the event in 2012, Kimmel proposed an alternative scenario. He directly addressed the president, saying, “Mr. President, please let me host this dinner. I’ve never asked you for anything, but can you imagine you, me, the FCC commissioner, all at a table together? Think of the ratings.”
To sweeten the deal, Kimmel offered to create a special award for Trump called “The Correspondy, the Dundie Correspondy,” exclusively for him. He appealed, “Please, give the people what they want for once.”
The president has previously called for Kimmel’s dismissal and attempted to censor him during his first term. In response, Kimmel has consistently poked fun at the president in his monologue jokes, including a memorable crack at the 2024 Oscars.
Kimmel hyped up the potential showdown at the WHCA dinner, declaring, “This is our destiny together. You and me. Think about it. Let’s make it the greatest, hottest, most spectacular dinner of any kind ever.”
