Jimmy Kimmel Spots Something Fishy In Trump’s Supposed Success

Jimmy Kimmel remains skeptical about the recent success story surrounding President Donald Trump and his family.

The documentary “Melania” about first lady Melania Trump, surpassed expectations and harsh critical reviews by earning $7 million at the box office over the weekend, making it the biggest opening for a non-music documentary in more than a decade.

“Many people, myself included, have been questioning how this movie managed to generate $7 million in ticket sales last weekend when most theaters appeared empty leading up to the release,” he remarked.

Kimmel highlighted reports suggesting that the sales were inflated by bulk-ticket purchases, or blocks of tickets bought by someone who then distributed them for free at locations like senior homes.

“And if you doubt that this is the kind of tactic they would employ, don’t forget that back in 2019, the Republican National Committee bought $100,000 worth of Don Jr.’s book to include in swag bags, making it a New York Times bestseller,” Kimmel noted.

Subsequent disclosure forms revealed the purchase of Donald Trump Jr.’s “Triggered,” with the RNC ultimately shelling out a reported $300,000 for copies of the book.

“Don Jr.’s book topped the New York Times bestseller list even though no one has actually read it,” Kimmel quipped. “No one has even cracked that book open.”

Applying the president’s election conspiracy theories to the “Melania” box office, Kimmel exclaimed, “We must uncover the truth. Send in Tulsi Gabbard and the FBI. Seize the ticket machines, the popcorn buckets, the box-office receipts at every multiplex in America.”
