Joe Giudice Reveals Teresa Giudice’s RHONJ Season 1 Salary

Joe Giudice recently opened up about his feelings regarding his ex-wife Teresa Giudice’s paycheck for the first season of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey.” During a podcast episode of “Casual Chaos,” their daughter Gia Giudice asked Joe if they had ever discussed being on TV, to which Joe admitted that they did not have a conversation about it. He recalled that after signing the contract for the show, everything was a blur, and the first season cost him around $150,000.

Gia explained to listeners that Housewives typically do not get paid much for filming the first season of a show, and the salary increases as the seasons progress. Joe revealed that they received no payment for the first season, estimating it to be around $25,000. Despite the low pay, Teresa and Joe have been original cast members of RHONJ since its inception in 2009. Even during Teresa’s time in prison in 2015, the show went on hiatus, but she remained a central figure on the series.

Gia mentioned that her parents enjoyed throwing parties, even if it meant spending more money than they earned, especially during the first season of RHONJ. Joe confirmed this, stating that he didn’t mind spending money on hosting parties and having people over at their house every weekend. However, he did express regret over a few episodes of the show, particularly during a trip to Napa, California in season 4. Joe admitted to calling Teresa derogatory names while intoxicated, a moment he now regrets and attributes to the chaotic environment and pressure to create drama on the show.

Reflecting on that incident, Joe acknowledged that it was the only time he didn’t feel like himself on the show and expressed his dislike for using such language. He attributed his behavior to the stressful and chaotic nature of filming, where the focus was on creating drama rather than enjoying a normal, relaxed time with the cast.

Overall, Joe’s revelations shed light on the behind-the-scenes challenges faced by reality TV stars and the pressure to perform and entertain viewers. Despite the ups and downs, the Giudice family’s journey on RHONJ has been a rollercoaster of emotions, drama, and personal growth.
