Joe Pantoliano to Finally Get HBO Subscription Thanks to “The Last of Us” Creator Craig Mazin
It seems like Joe Pantoliano, known for his role in “The Sopranos,” will finally be getting an HBO subscription, all thanks to “The Last of Us” creator Craig Mazin. During a panel at the Television Academy’s Televerse festival, Pantoliano revealed that he doesn’t have an HBO subscription, which came as a surprise to Mazin. But now, it looks like Mazin is determined to make sure Pantoliano has access to the network.
“I say ignorance is bliss. I don’t have HBO. I hope nobody from HBO is here,” joked Pantoliano during the panel. Mazin, in disbelief, responded by saying, “You don’t have HBO?! We can get you HBO!”
Pantoliano, who plays the role of Eugene in “The Last of Us” Season 2, shared his excitement about the character and the emotional depth of the role. He explained, “There was so much there to test me. And then, the simple stuff of ‘who am I? Where am I?’ What spoke to me the most is the human element of like, ‘this could happen to anyone.’ It’s happening every day.”
Mazin and Pantoliano also discussed the upcoming Season 3 of “The Last of Us,” with Kaitlyn Dever’s character Abby taking on a more prominent role. Dever shared her excitement about delving deeper into Abby’s backstory and motivations, hinting at a more profound exploration of the character in the upcoming season.
Mazin teased fans by saying, “We’ve had meetings already, he knows, and there’s creature work. If you play the game, you know there’s something coming. We’ve done a lot of talk about basements, that’s all I’ll say.” It looks like Season 3 of “The Last of Us” is set to be even more ambitious and thrilling than before.
With Pantoliano finally getting his hands on an HBO subscription and exciting developments in store for Season 3 of “The Last of Us,” fans have a lot to look forward to. It seems like the journey for Eugene and the rest of the characters is only just beginning.
